CIP ICT PSP 4th call open for new projects!
The 4th call for Information and Communication Technology Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP) project proposals under the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP) was published on the 21st of January 2010. The overall budget of the CIP ICT PSP 4th call is 107 million Euros.
The support for development and implementation of novel ICT solutions has been divided into six themes:
Theme 1: ICT for a low carbon economy and smart mobility;
Theme 2: Digital Libraries;
Theme 3: ICT for health and inclusion;
Theme 4: Open innovation for future internet-enabled services in “smart” cities;
Theme 5: ICT for improved services for citizens and businesses;
Theme 6: Multilingual Web.
In all themes a wide range of objectives are covered and the following types of projects can be submitted: Pilot A, Pilot B, Thematic Networks, and Best Practice Networks. Pilot A projects are expected to implement already existing ICT solutions on the EU level. Pilot B proposals aim to stimulate the uptake of innovative ICT based services and products in several EU Member States. Thematic Networks or so called “soft projects”, provide a forum for stakeholders for experience sharing and consensus building as well as for joint and coordinated development of the field across Europe. Best Practice Networks are only supported under Theme 2 “Digital libraries”.
The Community funding for Pilot A and Pilot B type proposals is up to 50% of eligible costs, up to 10 or 3 million EUR per project, respectively. Networking activities are funded through fixed amounts, depending mainly on the number of participants in the project. The number of estimated projects and budget for each objective with further conditions and guidelines can be found in the CIP ICT PSP 2010 work programme (p. 7).
The deadline for proposal submission to the 4th call is 1st of June 2010!
