Invent Baltics assisted and international consortium, coordinated by Fraunhofer FOKUS (Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communications Systems), in preparing a successful proposal to the FP7 ICT SMARTCITIES call.

The Steering towards Green and Perceptive Mobility of the Future (STREETLIFE) project will deliver a prototype urban mobility system that integrates heterogeneous information sources both directly and indirectly related to traffic; offers citizens safe, personalized, and real-time routing solutions covering all modes of transport; offers traffic management centres and city administrations ICT solutions to control the mobility resources and policies; and establishes a new value-chain offering an interface to mobility service providers to actively contribute to carbon reduction by proposing incentives rewarding environment friendly behaviour.

The effectiveness of the solution will be proved through an in depth evaluation on three city pilots (Berlin, Tampere, and Rovereto) involving end-users.

Besides the coordinator Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communications Systems, the members of the consortium are Fondazione Bruno Kessler, Siemens AG, Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz GmbH, Aalto University, Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt, Cooperativa Architetti e Ingeneri – Urbanistica, Comune di Rovereto, TSB Innovationsagentur Berlin GmbH, City of Tampere and CGI Suomi Oy.
